A solution of 7 (1.0 g, 2.94 mmol, 1.0 eq) dissolved in THF (20 mL) was added under stirring to 2M HCl (100 mL). The reaction was refluxed for one hour and allowed to cool under stirring over one hour. The product was filtered using a sintered glass funnel, washed with distilled water and THF and dried in high vacuum to afford 834 mg (95%) of 6 as a colorless solid.
