The title compound was prepared from urocanic acid (Aldrich) in 2 steps using standard chemical procedures (esterification using HCl in EtOH followed by hydrogenation with 10% Pd-C in EtOH). 1H NMR (CDCl3): δ 1.23 (3H, t), 2.65 (2H, t), 2.94 (2H, t), 4.15 (2H, q), 6.81 (1H, S), 7.56 (1H, s).
