Procedure

The title compound is prepared by the method of Example 2 using 1 g of the title compound of Example 15, with the exception that the intermediate cyclopentenone is rearranged using aqueous sodium carbonate solution (pH 10-11) containing 1% hydroquinone. After stirring for 24 hours at room temperature, the reaction mixture is acidified to pH 2-3 with dilute hydrochloric acid and extracted with ether. The combined extracts are washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated to dryness. The residue is chromatographed on Biosil A (using ethyl acetate/hexane is eluent) to afford the title compound. ##STR21##
