Procedure
400 mg of N-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)-6-chlorocarbazole-3,4-dicarboximide, 50 mg of 60% sodium hydride and 150 mg of dimethyl sulfate were subjected to the same reaction as in Example 3 (1) to obtain 250 mg (yield: 60%) of N-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)-6-chloro-9-methylcarbazole-3,4-dicarboximide as yellow crystals.
