A solution of (2Z,4E)-5-(benzofuran-2-yl)-2-methoxy-2,4-pentadienoic acid (122 mg, 0.5 mmol), 3-diethylaminopropylamine (65 mg, 0.5 mmol), 1-hydroxy-7-azabenzotriazole hydrate (65 mg, 0.5 mmol) and 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (95 mg, 0.5 mmol) in DMF (2 ml) was stirred at RT overnight. After the same work-up described in example 3 the residue was chromatographed on silicagel (preparative TLC, EtOAc/MeOH/aq.NH3 8/2/1). The fraction collected was dried to give pure title compound (32 mg, O90 mmol, yield 18.0%) as pale brown crystals, m.p.=79°.
