2,4-Dichloropyrimidine-5-carbonyl chloride (1 g, 5 mmol) was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (20 mL), 2,2,2-trifluoroethylamine (515 mg, 5 mmol) and triethylamine (1.31 mL, 9 mmol) were added. The reaction mixture was stirred at 25° C. for 2 h. The reaction mixture was purified by flash chromatography to yield a white solid (780 mg, 60%). MS: m/z=271.9 [M−H]−.
