To a solution of 3-(tert-butoxycarbonylamino)pyrrolidine (0.7 g) in THF (20 ml) cooled to 0° C. was added triethylamine (0.52 ml) followed by the addition of benzenesulfonyl chloride (0.48 ml) dropwise over 5 minutes. After stirring for 2 hours the mixture was poured into water and the organics extracted into ether. The ether extractions were combined, washed with brine, dried (MgSO4) and concentrated in vacuo to give crude material. Trituration with ether gave subtitle compound as a colourless solid (0.9 g).
