Procedure
To a solution of 13 (3 g, 10 mmol) in 150 mL anhydrous THF was added LiBH4 (0.27 g, 12 mmol) under nitrogen and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 h. The reaction was quenched by the addition of 1 M H2SO4 solution. The resulting solution was extracted with dichloromethane. The extracts were washed with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate, water and brine, dried over sodium sulphate, filtered and evaporated under vacuum to give light yellow solid which subjected to flash chromatography (silica gel, hexane:ethyl acetate=2:1) to afford 14.
