A solution of 1-t-butyl 2-methyl (2S,4R)-4-[(7-methoxy-3-vinylquinolin-2-yl)oxy]pyrrolidine-1,2-dicarboxylate (0.85 g, 1.98 mmol) in 4M HCl in dioxane (10 mL) was stirred at RT for two hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated, and the product was used with no further purification. LRMS (M+H-tBu)+=329.3.
