A solution of [5-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-3-methyl-3H-[1,2,3]triazol-4-yl]-methanol (380 mg, 2.02 mmol) in THF (5.5 mL) was added dropwise at 0° C. to a suspension of NaH (55% in oil, 88 mg, 2.02 mmol) in THF (2.7 mL) and the reaction mixture was then stirred at room temperature for 30 min. Then a solution of methyl 6-chloronicotinate (346 mg, 2.02 mmol) in THF (5.5 mL) was added dropwise at 0° C. and the reaction mixture stirred at room temperature for 16 h. The mixture was then poured into water extracted with ethyl acetate and the combined organic extracts washed with brine, dried over sodium sulphate, filtered and evaporated. Purification by chromatography (silica, 0 to 100% ethyl acetate in heptane) afforded the title compound (449 mg, 72%) as a white solid. MS: m/e=343.1 [M+H]+.
