Procedure
A solution of lithium hydroxide monohydrate (34 mg, 0.8 mmol) in water (1.0 mL) was added dropwise to a suspension of 6-{(E)-2-[5-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-3-methyl-3H-[1,2,3]triazol-4-yl]-vinyl}-nicotinic acid methyl ester (136 mg, 0.4 mmol) in THF (1.0 mL) and methanol (0.2 mL). The reaction mixture was then stirred at room temperature for 1 h and was then evaporated and the residue dissolved in water, acidified with HCl (1N), and the resulting precipitate filtered off to afford the title product (114 mg, 87%) as a white solid. MS: m/e=323.2 [M−H]−.
