A solution of lithium hydroxide monohydrate (143 mg, 3.39 mmol) in water (5.8 mL) was added dropwise to a suspension of 6-[3-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-5-methyl-3H-[1,2,3]triazol-4-ylmethoxy]-nicotinic acid methyl ester (581 mg, 1.7 mmol) in THF (5.8 mL) and methanol (2 mL). The reaction mixture was then stirred at room temperature for 30 min and was then evaporated and the residue dissolved in water, acidified with HCl (1N), and the resulting precipitate filtered off to afford the title product (538 mg, 97%) as a white solid. MS: m/e=327.2 [M−H]−.
