A solution of lithium hydroxide monohydrate (180 mg, 4.25 mmol) in water (7.3 mL) was added dropwise to a suspension of 5-[3-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-5-methyl-3H-[1,2,3]triazol-4-ylmethoxy]-pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester (730 mg, 2.13 mmol) in THF (7.3 mL). The reaction mixture was then stirred at room temperature for 30 min and was then evaporated and the residue dissolved in water, acidified with HCl (1N), and the resulting precipitate filtered off to afford the title product (700 mg, 100%) as a white solid. MS: m/e=330.1 [M−H]−.
