A 3M aqueous NaOH solution (0.16 mL, 0.49 mmol) was added to a THF (1.0 mL) and MeOH (1.5 mL) solution of ethyl 3-(5-(2-(((2-chloro-4′-(trifluoromethyl)-[1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)amino)methyl)-3-methoxy-5-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)picolinamido)propanoate (56 mg, 0.08 mmol) and the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature. After 2 h the resulting mixture was acidified with 1N aqueous HCl and extracted with EtOAc. The combined organics were dried (Na2SO4), concentrated and purified via column chromatography to give the title compound.
