3-bromo-5-chlorobenzaldehyde (502 mg, 2.3 mmol), ethyl 3-(5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)picolinamido)propanoate (794 mg, 2.3 mmol), Pd(dppf)Cl2 (84 mg, 0.1 mmol), and K2CO3 (632 mg, 4.6 mmol) were dissolved in 1,4-dioxane (10 mL) and water (2 mL) and the resulting mixture was heated to 70° C. After 3 h the resulting mixture was cooled to room temperature, diluted with EtOAc, washed with water and brine, dried (Na2SO4), concentrated, and purified via column chromatography to yield the title compound.
