After a chiral separation, Intermediate 33 (1 eq.) (100% ee) was solubilised in dioxane. A solution of HCl (4N) in dioxane was added and the reaction was stirred at 20° C. for 15 h. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the crude was crystallised in a mixture of DCM/iPr2O/pentane to afford (R)-2-methyl-azetidine-2-carboxylic acid hydrochloride.
