Procedure
To a mixture of 4,5-difluoro-2-nitro-phenylamine (1.51 g, 8.67 mmol), potassium carbonate (2.40 g, 17.3 mmol), and DMF (43 mL) was added 1-propanethiol (0.865 mL, 9.54 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated at 90° C. for 1.5 h, and allowed to cool to 23° C. The mixture was poured into ice/brine (400 mL) and the resulting precipitate was collected to yield the titled compound (1.97 g, 98% yield). MS (ESI/CI): mass calcd. for C9H11FN2O2S, 230.1; m/z found, 231.1 [M+H]+. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3): 7.78 (d, J=10.3 Hz, 1H), 6.52 (d, J=6.3 Hz, 1H), 6.04 (s, 2H), 2.93 (t, J=7.3 Hz, 2H), 1.84-1.70 (m, 2H), 1.09 (t, J=7.4 Hz, 3H).
