tert-Butyl piperazine-1-carboxylate (45.8 mmol, 8.53 g) and 4-(3-(cyclopropylmethyl)ureido)benzoic acid (45.8 mmol, 10.73 g) were mixed in dichloromethane (200 mL) and triethylamine (103 mmol, 14.36 ml, 10.43 g) added followed by 1-propanephosphonic acid cyclic anhydride (68.7 mmol, 40.7 mL, 43.7 g, 50% solution in ethyl acetate). The reaction was stirred for 1 hour and then was poured into saturated sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and extracted with dichloromethane. The organic phase was dried (magnesium sulfate), filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (17.13 g).
