Procedure
183 mg (3 equiv.) NaN3 were added to a mixture of 300 mg (0.94 mmol) 3-chloro-propane-1-sulfonic acid (1-isopropyl-piperidin-4-yl)-amide hydrochloride and 519 mg K2CO3 in 10 ml DMF. The resulting mixture was stirred for 24 h at 50° C. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was taken up in dichloromethane and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under vacuo to give crude 3-azido-propane-1-sulfonic acid (1-isopropyl-piperidin-4-yl)-amide as a yellow oil, which was pure enough for further transformations.
