A solution of N-{2-[5-chloro-3-(4-chloro-3-trifluoromethyl-benzenesulfonylamino)-pyridine-2-carbonyl]-3-methoxy-phenyl}-2,2-dimethyl-propionamide (105 mg, 0.17 mmol) in AcOH (6 mL) and 2 M aqueous HCl (1 mL) was heated at 60° C. for 4 days. The reaction mixture was neutralized with aqueous NaHCO3, extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic extracts were washed with saturated aqueous NaHCO3 and brine, dried (Na2SO4), and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue purified by HPLC to provide N-[2-(2-amino-6-methoxy-benzoyl)-5-chloro-pyridin-3-yl]-4-chloro-3-trifluoromethyl-benzenesulfonamide: MS m/z 520.0 (M+H)+.
