Add hydrogen chloride (2 mL, 12 M aqueous) to a solution of 4-[4-(4-Fluoro-3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (275 mg; 665.19 μmoles) in methanol (10 mL). Stir the mixture at room temperature overnight, and then concentrate and dry to offer 210 mg (90% yield) of the title compound.
