Procedure

2,2-Dimethylpropyl 4-[4-(methoxycarbonyl)pyridin-2-yl]-1-piperazinecarboxylate (365 mg) obtained in Example 5 was dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (5 mL), and lithium tetrahydroborate (30 mg) was added thereto, stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes, and then 1 N sodium hydroxide was added thereto and stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes. The reaction liquid was diluted with ethyl acetate, washed with water and saturated saline water, and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated away, and the resulting residue was isolated and purified through thin-layer silica gel chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate=1/1) to obtain 11 mg of the entitled compound as a colorless oil.
