To a mixture of 6-hydrazino-3-phenyl-1,5-naphthyridin-2(1H)-one (7-2) (70 mg, 0.277 mmol) and DIPEA (0.2 mL, 1.15 mmol) in DMF (3 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 0.5 hours. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give N′-(6-oxo-7-phenyl-5,6-dihydro-1,5-naphthyridin-2-yl)propanohydrazide (7-3) as yellow solid.
