36.0 g (0.20 mol) of 2,4-dichloro-5-fluoroaniline are dissolved at room temperature in 180 ml of ethanol and 36.0 g of concentrated sulfuric acid are added with cooling. To this mixture are added dropwise 27.0 ml (0.23 mol) of amyl 1 nitrite. The diazonium salt precipitated out is then removed by suction and washed with a little diethyl ether.
