Following the general procedure of Example 1, 9.1 grams of 1,5-bis(2-chlorophenyl)-1,4-pentadien-3-one, 4 grams of amino-guanidine hydrochloride, 10 drops of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 250 ml. of ethanol, and employing a 6.5 hour reflux period, 7.4 grams of the title compound is obtained, melting at 243°-244° C.
