To a solution of 2,4-dichloro-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazine (0.90 g, 0.0055 mol) in DMF (3.50 mL) and toluene (1.5 mL) at 0° C. was added (S)-(+)-1-aminoindan (0.64 mL, 0.0050 mol) followed by DIPEA (0.991 mL, 0.00569 mol). The mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 30 min. The reaction was poured into water and extracted with CH2Cl2. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography (0 to 15% EtOAc/hexanes) to afford 0.69 g (53%) of the title compound.
