To 4-chloro-3-(3,5-dichloro-pyridin-2-yl)-N-(2-methoxy-phenyl)-benzamide (40 mg, 0.1 mmol) in DMF (0.6 mL) at 0-5° C., NaH (8 mg, 0.2 mmol, 60% in mineral oil) was added and the mixture was stirred for 25 min at rt. Upon addition of bromomethylacetate (21 μL, 0.2 mmol), the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 12 hrs. Addition of MeOH (0.3 mL) was followed by filtration and purification on preparative HPLC to afford [[4-chloro-3-(3,5-dichloro-pyridin-2-yl)-benzoyl]-(2-methoxy-phenyl)-amino]-acetic acid methyl ester 17-1.
