Procedure
3.0 g of the tizanidine base (99.15% HPLC) and 1.9 g of 99% formic acid are added to 5 ml of isopropyl alcohol; after short heating to boil a yellowish solution results, from which a precipitated product starts to separate. After cooling to 0-5° C. and aspiration 3.09 g of tizanidine formate are obtained.
