To a mixture of 2-bromomethyl-2,3-dihydrobenzo[1,4]dioxine (3.0 g, 13.09 mmol) and ethyl nipecotate (2.65 ml, 17.02 mmol) in DMF (15 ml) was added DIPEA (7.5 ml). The reaction mixture was irradiated in the microwave reactor at 110° C. for 3 min. Water (20 ml) was then added. The reaction mixture was extracted with DCM (3×20 ml). The combined organic phases were dried over Na2SO4, filtered and evaporated to give the crude title compound, which was purified by column chromatography (DCM/MeOH, 95:5).
