6-Bromo-4-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)-3,4-dihydropyrazino[2,3-b]pyrazin-2(1H)-one. To a solution of N-(3,5-dibromopyrazin-2-yl)-2-iodoacetamide (See Example 5.B) (6.6 g, 15.8 mmol) and diisopropylethylamine (4.0 g, 31.6 mmol) in acetonitrile (50 mL) was added tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-amine (6.4 g, 63.2 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 16 h. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the residue which was purified by chromatography on silica gel (5-20% ethyl acetate in petroleum ether) to give the title compound (1.98 g, 40% yield). MS (ESI) m/z 313.1 [M+1]+.
