Procedure

7.1 g (0.03 mole) 1-hydroxy-1-phenyl-3-(1,2,3-thiadiazole-5-yl)-urea were dissolved in 75 ml tetrahydrafuran and reacted with 1.44 g (0.03 mole) of a 50% dispersion of sodium hydride in oil. After an hour had elapsed at room temperature all of the gas evolvement had been completed and then 1.9 ml (0.03 mole) methyliodide were introduced and the reaction mixture over a period of 30 minutes heated to 60° C. Thereafter the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuum and reacted with 100 ml of ice water. The resulting greasy crystals were digested with 50 ml diisopropylether and dried to a constant weight at 40° C. in vacuum.
