Procedure

2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)-5-((triisopropylsilyl)sulfanyl)isoindolin-1-one was dissolved in a solution of hydrochloric acid in methanol (2 ml) and tetrahydrofuran (2 ml) and stirred at room temperature for 2 hours or until disappearance of starting material. Reaction mixture concentrated to give desired material (quant yield). ES+248
