Procedure
A solution of 9.4 g (45 mmol) of 3-chloro-2,4,5trifluorobenzoic acid (Example 3), oxalyl chloride, 7.6 g (60 mmol), 3 drops of dimethylformamide, and 100 ml of dichloromethane is stirred at room temperature for three hours. The solvent and excess oxalyl chloride are evaporated on the steam bath, and the residue is distilled at 121°-123° C. at 30 mm Hg to give 2.9 g of the title compound.
