In 1.0 ml of formamide were dissolved 28 mg of N-cyano-N'-[2-(2-formyloxy-3-oxobutylthio)ethyl]-N"-methylguanidine and 25 mg of ammonium formate, and the solution was stirred at 50° C. for 2 hours. Then, 85 mg of sodium hydrogencarbonate was added to the solution and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure, and the obtained residue was refined by silica gel column chromatography (developing solvent: ethyl acetate/methanol=10/1) to obtain 11 mg of a colorless oily product (the yield was 47%).
