The above prepared 2-(benzhydrylidene-amino)-3-{4-[2-(5-methyl-2-phenyl-oxazol-4-yl)-ethoxy]-naphthalen-1-yl}-propionic acid ethyl ester was dissolved in 20 ml of THF and treated at 0° with 5 ml of 2N HCl. The cleavage of the protecting group was monitored by TLC. After 5 h the reaction mixture was poured onto crushed ice/NaHCO3 and extracted twice with AcOEt, washed with water, dried over sodium sulfate, and the solvents were removed i.V. Flash chromatography (SiO2, AcOEt) produced 0.505 g of the title compound as colorless oil.
