To a solution of the product of Step 1, above (50) (3.07 mmol), in 6 ml of CCl4 was added NBS (3.07 mmol) and azobisisobutyronitrile (0.09 mmol) and the mixture was heated to 82° C. for 2 hours. The reaction was cooled to ambient temperature and filtered through celite, washing the cake thoroughly with CCl4. The organics were then concentrated to dryness to obtain the title compound (51).
