A solution of the compound of step A (300 mg, 0.54 mmol) in ethyl acetate (6 ml) and 3N hydrochloric acid (6 ml) was heated to reflux overnight. Solvents were removed in vacuo, and the residue was recrystallized from methanol-acetonitrile to give the title product as a white solid, mp 192° C. (decomp.) (155.5 mg, 0.338 mmol, 62% yield).
