The title compound was prepared from 2-{4-[3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-propyl]phenylamino}benzoic acid methyl ester (0.41 g, 0.99 mmol), 1N NaOH (4.0 mL) in EtOH (4 mL) and THF (4 mL) using the procedure described in Example 2. This procedure yielded a yellow solid, 0.32 g (0.80 mmol, 81%) of the desired product mp 120-126° C.
