To a solution of (2-chloro-pyrimidin-4-yl)-quinolin-3-yl-amine (0.400 g, 1.64 mmol) in DMF (7 mL) at 0° C. was added MeI (0.133 mL, 2.13 mmol) and NaH (60% dispersion in mineral oil, 0.079 g, 1.97 mmol). The reaction mixture was warmed to RT, accompanied by the appearance of a yellow color and solid precipitate. After stirring for 1 h at RT, H2O (25 mL) was added and the mixture was extracted with EtOAc (3×10 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried with MgSO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. Chromatography on silica gel (1:1 EtOAc:Hexanes) provided the title compound.
