Procedure

A solution of 1-3 (1.16 g, 4.80 mmol) in THF (50 mL) was treated with a solution of 1M LiAlH4 in THF (10.0 mL, 10.0 mmol) and heated to 55° C. for 2 hours. The reaction was quenched with aqueous ammonium chloride and extracted with diethyl ether. The solvents were removed in vacuo to afford 1-4.
