To a mixed liquid of 200 mg of 5-(2-pyridinecarbonyl)-1-phenyl-3-bromo-1,2-dihydropyridin-2-one, 130 mg of 2-(2-cyanophenyl)-1,3,2-dioxaborinate, 400 mg of cesium carbonate and 6 ml of dimethylformamide was added 60 mg of tetrakistriphenylphosphine palladium, followed by stirring at 130° C. for 5 hours in nitrogen atmosphere. After cooling to room temperature, ethyl acetate was added thereto. The extract was washed with water and brine, and dried over magnesium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated, and the residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane), to give 45 mg of the title compound as a pale yellow powder.
