To a solution of 2-[4-(1,1-dioxo-1λ6-[1,2,5]thiadiazolidin-2-yl)phenyl]-1-ethyl-6-methoxy-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile (34 mg, 0.086 mmol) in anhydrous DMF (1.0 mL) is added potassium carbonate (25 mg, 0.18 mmol) and iodomethane (20.4 mg, 0.144 mmol). The mixture is stirred at room temperature for 2 h and then diluted with water (6.0 mL) to give a precipitate. The precipitate is filtered, washed with water and dried to give 1-ethyl-6-methoxy-2-[4-(5-methyl-1,1-dioxo-1λ6-[1,2,5]thiadiazolidin-2-yl)-phenyl]-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile, compound 726, as a white solid (35 mg, 98% yield).
