2-Phenoxymethyl-1-(4-trifluoromethylsulfanyl-benzyl)-1H-indole-5-carboxylic acid methyl ester was dissolved in dioxane and treated with 1M NaOH at 50° C. for 16 h. The solvents were evaporated and the remaining solid treated with 0.5 ml HCl/1 ml ethylacetate and extracted with water.
