To the stirred solution of 1-(1-azidoethyl)-3-bromo-5-chloro-4-fluoro-2-methoxybenzene (3.3 g, 11 mmol) in THF (50 mL) and water (10 mL) was added 1.0 M trimethylphosphine in THF (13 mL) at room temperature and the mixture was stirred for 1 hour. The mixture was diluted with EtOAc, washed with saturated sodium bicarbonate solution, water, brine, dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated to give the desired compound (2.9 g, 95%). LCMS calculated for C9H8BrClFO (M−NH2)+: m/z=264.9, 266.9. found: 265.0, 267.0.
