A microwave vial was charged with of 8-nitro-4-oxo-2-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-1,4-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxylate 36 (1.0 g, 2.46 mmol), dioxane (8 mL) and 1N HCl (4 mL). The reaction mixture was heated at 190° C. in the microwave for 50 min. The volatiles were evaporated and the residue dried under vacuum to give 37 (707 mg, 86% yield).
