Treat a mixture of 4-bromo-2-fluoro-5-(7-methyl-2-(methylthio)pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-6-yl)aniline (0.20 g, 0.527 mmol) in EtOAc (10 mL) and saturated. NaHCO3 (10 ml) with isopropenyl chloroformate (0.064 ml, 0.580 mmol) and stir the biphasic mixture vigorously at RT for 4 h. Separate the layers, extract the aqueous layer with additional EtOAc (1×), wash the combined organics with brine, dry over Na2SO4 and concentrate to dryness to afford the title compound (assume 100% yield). MS (m/z): 463.0.
