Procedure

9.54 mL of trifluoroacetic acid was added to a solution of (S)-tert-butyl 2-carbamoyl-4,4-difluoropyrrolidine-1-carboxylate (1.25 g, 5 mmol) in 10 mL of dichloromethane. The solution was stirred for 1 hour before evaporation. The residue was washed with ether to yield white crystals.
