Add 63 mg (3.9×10-4 mol) of N-phenylpiperazine and then, very slowly, 0.08 ml (5.57×10-4 mol) of triethylamine to a previously prepared solution of 100 mg (3.72×10-4 mol) of 1,3-dihydro-5-bromoacetyl-1-methyl-2H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-2-one (Preparation 19) in 3 ml of dioxane. After 30 minutes' stirring at room temperature, the resulting precipitate is removed by filtration and the flitrate is concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the title product in a yield of 78%. ##STR75##
