A mixture of 4-(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-yl)morpholine (20.6 g, 107 mmol), N-iodosuccinimide (28.8 g, 128 mmol) and ACN (400 ml) is stirred at RT for 24 h. DCM and an aqueous solution containing 3% sodium thiosulfate is added and the mixture extracted with DCM. The combined organic layers are dried over MgSO4 and concentrated in vacuo. This material is used without further purification. Yield: 33.7 g (89%).
