A solution of 4-(chloromethyl)phenyl 4-chloro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl ether (500, mg, 1.557 mmol), potassium carbonate (500 mg, 3.62 mmol) and 2,4-dihydroxypyridine (350 mg, 3.15 mmol) in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) (5 mL) was heated at 60° C. for overnight, then cooled to rt and diluted with acetonitrile. Solid suspension was removed by filtration, concentrated. Purification via Biotage-C18 system afforded the title product (310 mg) as a white solid. LC-MS (ESI): m/z 396 [M+H]+; 3.48 min (ret time).
